"Boules is a ball game in which the objective is to roll the heavy ball, towards a small target ball called the jack in English. Boules-type games are traditionally popular in many European countries, as well as popular in most former French colonies in Africa and Asia. Boules is usually played in open spaces, in town squares and village parks, normally on a grass surface. Based on an ancient Greek bowling game, that commenced in the sixth century BC, using stone balls spheristics. Later in the Middle Ages a similar game Lawn Bowls was created, becoming very popular in England."
