Amsterdam North was the main stadium for the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The venue is currently used mostly for athletics, other sports events and concerts.

Amsterdam was used for the World Bowl IX American football team Final, between Frankfurt Galaxy and Rhein Fire. The Amsterdam Arena hosts regular team football, has staged several major Football Finals.
