Beijing East is used for regular team matches by one of the top teams, in the Chinese Super league. The Workers Stadium was the main venue for the 1990 Asian Games, the fastest women's 1500m time was set here.

Beijing West is often referred to as the Bird's Nest; it is the home stadium for the National football team, in Beijing. Beijing National Stadium hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics and the Paralympics Games.
